A Greek Revival home plan inspired by the original “Twin Oaks” home in Natchez, MS – circa 1832
This historic 1-1/2 story house plan is a mini version the stately home in which it emulates. Scaled at just under 2,400 square feet, the Twin Oaks house plan is a perfect downsizing residence for empty-nesters who appreciate the Greek revival architecture style.
THE TWIN OAKS HOUSE PLAN FIRST FLOOR
The foyer greets visitors with a simple staircase and a view to the formal dining room. Just to the right of the foyer is the family room which features a corner fireplace. Directly behind the family room is a large kitchen with a corner walk-in pantry. This room also features an over-sized center island and has seating for four to enjoy casual meals and snacks. The kitchen provides another direct line of vision into the dining room which has a coffer ceiling. A mudroom houses a laundry closet, separate the kitchen from a two car garage, and provides access to the rear deck.
The first floor also includes the master bedroom which is positioned at the front of the house. The master suite features a large walk-in closet with plenty of hanging space for his and hers clothing. In addition to the closet, there is a luxurious master bathroom with a huge shower and free standing tub.
SECOND FLOOR ROOMS
The second floor is tucked underneath the roof. However, space has two secondary bedrooms. The rooms are opposite one another and share full bathroom. There is also a hall closet to store linens and other items. Moreover, there is a hall door that leads to the attic space for additional storage needs.
