A true shingle style house should open up to the landscape in almost all directions. Unfortunately most every stock floorplan has a standard front yard/backyard plan with closed off side walls. Moose Pond is the perfect plan for a property where the best light/views are towards a side lot line rather than the rear. The huge majority of ready-made floorplans have a standard front yard/backyard plan with closed off sides so one would typically need a custom design to take full advantage of this type of lot. Upon approaching Moose Pond, one is embraced by a front courtyard space formed by the projecting living room wing. The driveway can come up close to the entry porch or in a larger lot, could be held away from the house to create space for an entry garden.
In a surprising twist, one discovers that the front door is actually off to the left side of the front porch. Directly in line with the front door, one finds large french doors which lead out to a terrace overlooking the primary view. The living room and dining room form an enfilade of formal rooms which share this terrace. The kitchen occupies the center of the house and leads to a family room and covered porch which command both direct access to the rear of the property (this plan shown with swimming pool) and also an expansive view back towards the main lawn.

1st Floor Plan: Like all plans offered on this website, Moose Pond has a layout that is both modern in its open flow and traditional in its strongly defined rooms. The primary rooms have french doors and huge 7′-6″ tall windows that fill the spaces with natural light and encourage easy flow to outdoor rooms. First floor ceilings are an airy 10′-3″ high which, along with the oversized windows, will give your new home a true stately feel.
Moose Pond is only one room deep throughout, meaning that the living room, dining room, kitchen, and family room all have windows on two, or even three, sides for great ventilation and views of your property. The covered porch can be outfitted with removable screen panels or with motorized screens.
2nd Floor Plan: Moose Pond has large windows and 9′-0″ ceilings throughout the second floor and any space can be made taller with a cathedral ceiling. Moose Pond has a generously proportioned master suite with a large dressing room that can be finished with mirrored cabinets and an island. The master bedroom has the option for a fireplace. Each additional bedroom has it’s own bathroom and closets are located to allow for easy furniture placement. The second floor also features a home office and laundry room.
Basement Plan: Moose Pond is shown here with 900 square feet of finished space including a large playroom and exercise room. Full basements on this website are detailed with numerous full height windows, filling the space with natural light and making it feel anything but underground. Moose Pond is shown with seven large basement windows and additional windows are possible if more finished space is desired. A walk-out basement with french doors is also possible for sloping sites.

A basic plan set includes: Everything necessary for a contractor to build the exterior shell of your home. Unlike many floorplan sites, this includes blow-up details of every exterior condition so nothing is left to the builder’s interpretation.
A basic set includes: foundation plan, first floor plan, second floor plan, roof plan, framing plans, exterior elevations, building sections, and exterior details.
Unlike almost any other floor plan site, interior detail drawings are also available. These are priced on an a la carte basis as shown in the purchase section of each home. Interior offerings include electrical plans, kitchen elevations, and typical interior trim details.
Drawings are laid out on 24×36 pages. Plans and exterior elevations are drawn at 1/4″ scale, sections and interiors are 1/2″ scale, and details range from 1 1/2″ scale up to full scale.

INTERIOR PACKAGE: Interior elevations of all rooms (including kitchen cabinet drawings) at 1/2” scale and suggested interior details, some up to full scale, showing all moldings, fireplaces, stairs, built-ins, and paneling. (PDF and/or CAD as selected in base package.)
